Earlier, I flipped from channel to channel to see what might have happened the night before. What I hear is the ongoing debate about the war on terror (I guess we are not supposed to call it a war anymore), the dire state of the economy, the mixed signals we are sending both our friends and those who would just as soon see us wiped from the face of the earth. Finally, I get the daily lesson in politics. The talking heads debating the merits of their point of view and how those on the other side are going to destroy the world as we know it.

I find myself sceaming at the television more and more these days. I watch as our elected representatives drive what seems to be their own agendas with little regard for those they represent. I listen to the pollsters that tell us the 800 people sampled are divided near the middle on nearly every issue and I wonder how this grand idea of the Founding Fathers will survive.

Today, I decided to see if I had a voice. Over time and using this modern tool for communication, I want to see if there are others that wait in the wings. Silent, until now, maybe angry, more likely scared and a little frustrated. The primary purpose of this blog is to discuss and understand what the Founders were thinking when they started this grand experiment so many years ago.

I am sure that this is not the only place that this discussion is happening. We are seeing the people wake and I want to see if we can’t rediscover ourselves and reaffirm the principle of freedom and liberty. With each post, I want to develop the ideas embodied in The Federalist Papers and by extention the Constitution.
